Itunes Error Disc Burner Software Not Found
My iTunes Cd burning application or whatever isnt working. It says 'Disc burner or software not found' and still doesnt work even with Patchburn. Once that was installed, itunes went cold and couldn't locate my DVD drive and kept saying 'Disc burner or software not found'. For days I couldn't fix it, even after uninstalling daemon tools and reinstalling itunes.
Itunes Disc Burner Error
I have a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop with a 2.40 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and 4GB Ram running Windows XP Pro SP3.
I have iTunes Version 12.0.1.26 (the latest) installed and as with all recent updates get the usual warning message when starting the program - 'the registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing .....' Of course, if I try to burn a playlist I get a message 'disc burner or software not found'.
There is no longer any search facility for this forum so could not find any previous answers here (I know it is a common problem) and the Apple support sites primarily mentioned looking for 2 possibly conflicting drivers afs.sys and afs2k.sys and moving them out of the driver folder. Unfortunately, neither of these drives are present in my driver folder.
I know there is nothing wrong with my burner as I can burn most other things so am looking for any other possible solutions or work-arounds.

ALSO: It might be important for me to mention that whenever I open iTunes an error message pops up that say 'iTunes did not install correctly. if you wish to import or burn CDs you need to reinstall iTunes.' So I did just that and it still didn't work and gave me that error message again.
